Schedule for Monday, June 29 through Monday, July 6

1. I thought all the guys did a great job this week. The JV played Manti and 5A Riverton very tough, and beat 5A Wasatch and 6A American Fork. That's tremendous.  I felt the varsity turned in four very impressive performances and closed the tournament with a great win over 5A East that required a ton of grit and toughness, and a perhaps the best display of offensive basketball that we've had during my tenure in Saturday's win over ALA - it was really, really beautiful basketball. That, along with their tremendous defensive effort and great team spirit, allowed us a glimpse of just how special this group can be.

2. I need to meet with each of the four freshmen and one of their parents at the end of practice Monday. If you could arrive at about 8:50, I would appreciate it.

3. Here's our schedule for practice this week. I hope to get the schedule for the Rocky Mountain Showcase (July 7-11) out sometime this week.
-Monday, June 29 practice for all levels 7:15-9:00 PM. Arrive at 7:00.
-Tuesday, June 30 varsity only practice 8:30-10:00 AM. Doors open at 8:00.
-Wednesday, July 1 varsity only scrimmages vs. Hillcrest and Brighton (tentative) 2:00-4:00 PM.
-Thursday, July 2 practice for all levels 8:30-10:00 AM. Doors open at 8:00 AM.
-Friday, July 3 practice for all levels 8:30-10:00 AM. Doors open at 8:00 AM.
-Saturday, July 4 8:30-10:00 AM optional workout session open to everyone.
-Monday, July 6 varsity only practice 7:00-9:00 PM at Salt Lake Sports Academy (aka the JR Dome) located at 660 West Billinis Road Suite B, Salt Lake City 84115. Take the 3300 South Exit off I15. This is where we may practice during the season when the gym is unavailable due to girls' basketball and wrestling. Our gym floor is being refinished, so we had to find an alternate site.

4. There is a varsity-only tournament we could play in on July 17 and 18 at Westlake and Providence Hall. I want the six seniors and two juniors who have played in the varsity games to text me and let me know by this Monday if they are interested and available; we may ask a few kids from our JV to play each game, too, once we know how much interest we have.
