Recognizing there's always things we can, need, should, and we hope, will, do better, I think we should focus on some of the good things we did today and build upon them again tomorrow against Judge and Juan Diego. Some things we did well or better:
1. We won a dang game!
2. We made a (non-banked in) jump shot!
3. We executed set plays well, particularly 11, Mustang, and Circle.
4. We executed well at the end of the half in game 2.
5. We executed the Dribble At action well, especially when running Mustang.
6. We led Skyline for an entire half and controlled the first half in every way.
7. We recovered well went Skyline went on a run and took a lead. We buckled down, executed on both ends, and went on a 20-5 run the last 8 minutes or so to close the game.
8. We had a positive, WE-oriented vibe from guys when they weren't in the game, particularly during the Skyline game.
9. We beat Skyline while not playing perfect - we missed some easy shots, had some poor turnovers, made some defensive mistakes, gave up some offensive rebounds.
10. We got to the basket and forced the officials to make some decisions and got to the line.
11. We recovered defensively pretty well.
Let's make sure we repeat these things at an even more efficient rate the rest of this week. A great goal for us would be to end the week winning two of our final three. That would be a great springboard going into a month or so of practice before we play at Utah.
