Swing Offense Links

With all of these videos, there may be certain things we do a little differently that what you see on screen. That's okay. I am not having you watch these because we're going to do everything exactly like these guys, rather, I just want you to have a sense of some ways to play in this offense so when we start putting it in, it's not completely brand new. I may even change some things that are in your packet. That's how things work sometimes - you have to be flexible and adapt.

This first video will give you a basic overview of the continuity action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICpLGqW2iNw

This second video shows you some game film from Wisconsin, who ran this offense the year they went to the Final Four a few years back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-qx-mJGtZc
You'll notice some of the things they do are different than Seattle Pacific; they also employ a lot of the principles we focus on with Open.

This last one shows Seattle Pacific running Swing. The thing I want you to get out of this is how hard they play in it, how hard their cuts are. I think we did a good job approximating this in Open in practice today. With our size and speed, we need to make ourselves very hard to guard in the half court with hard, precise cuts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbTRgxV_NtE
