Schedule for July 13-18

Monday, July 13-Thursday, July 16: Shooting program with a teammate or two on your own. This is critical! We are still far from the best shooting team in the state.  Text in your makes to the group chat and update the google doc online at the end of the week.

Thursday, July 16: Practice at Salt Lake Sports Academy 7-8:30 PM.

Read the tournament protocols below. We need someone to bring hand sanitizer. You must print the consent to play form at the bottom of the post, fill it out, and bring it with you to the game. Friday, July 17: Varsity only 5 PM vs. Salem Hills at Westlake Main (Zack Caden Ridge Owen Cody Jaxon JR Caleb Khol Tyler Kaysen Bryson) and 7 PM vs. Panguitch at Westlake East Aux (Zack Caden Ridge Owen Cody Jaxon JR Caleb Khol Tyler Eric Christian).

Saturday, July 18: 8-9 AM Shooting Workout at Summit open to all levels; doors open at 7:45 AM.

Varsity only 10 AM vs. Provo at Westlake Main (Zack Caden Ridge Owen Cody Jaxon JR Caleb Khol Tyler Noah Peyton) and 11 AM vs. Wendover at Westlake East Aux (Zack Caden Ridge Owen Cody Jaxon JR Caleb Khol Tyler Bryson Noah).

Rules: 


  1. Time: two 18 minute halves, running clock. Clock Stops on time outs, AND during the last minute of the 1st half and last two minutes of the 2nd half on dead balls. (this if the lead is less than 20 points. Halftime is 2 minutes.
  2. Free throws: 1 shot for 2 points. And 1's will shoot the 1 shot. 1&1 situation is 1 shot. Last 2 minutes of game BOTH FT's are shot as normal.
  3. Timeouts: 3-thirty second timeouts per team per game
  4. OT: first team to 3 points wins. 1 Timeout per team in OT
  5. Backcourt press allowed in all divisions unless one team is up 20+ points

Tournament Protocols:

Covid-19 Protocols for Mtn. Hoops/Utah Bantam July 15-18 Tournament - Please Forward to ALL Parents and Spectators 

  1. ALL Teams should only have approximately 10-12 parents/spectators. $5 per person.
  2. Prior to games DO NOT ENTER until the previous game ends, or until told by a staff member that your team is ok to come in, or the gym has emptied of participants and spectators from the prior game.
  3. After games EXIT quickly to the parking lot for any team meetings, team business etc.
  4. Water bottles must be brought by each player. Drinking fountains are not to be used.
  5. Hand Sanitizer: Each team should have some for all players and use it: Before each game, at all time outs and at half-time. It will be available at all entry points and at each scorers table.
  6. Clearing Players to play is the responsibility of  the coach and parents of each team. Please be sure that any player exhibiting symptoms (listed below) DOES NOT ENTER the gym or remain around teammates. Covid-19 symptoms include: Fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, cough, trouble breathing, sore throat, muscle aches and pains, as well as other symptoms - if you don't feel well STAY HOME!
  7. Contact tracing: Parents & spectatprs will sign in at the front and pay the $5 admission for the day. 
  8. Social Distancing: Please maintain social distancing in stands (6 feet apart from people outside of your household)
  9. MASKS: Should be worn by anyone inside the facility that is not actively involved in the game (Players, coaches, officials) Players should wear masks up to the time that they begin to warm up for games. Masks will be available at the check in point, but PLEASE bring your own mask.
  10. Feeling sick?  All players, coaches or spectators that are not feeling well should please stay at home.
It takes everyone cooperating to have a safe and fun tournament for everyone. Please be patient and enjoy the tournament!

Schedule for July 6-18

Here's our schedule for the next two weeks. If you're ever going to miss or be late to something, please let me know as far in advance as possible (verbal reminders are appreciated, texts are preferred). 

Monday, July 6: Varsity practice at Salt Lake Sports Academy, 7-9 PM (arrive at 6:45); 660 West Billinis Road Suite B, Salt Lake City 84115. Take the 3300 South Exit off I15.

Here are our rosters for the Rocky Mountain Showcase. Some players are asked to attend both JV and Varsity games.

Varsity: Caden, Zack, Ridge, Owen, Cody, Jaxon. 

JV: Kaysen, Carson, Peyton, Christian, Eric. 

Attend both JV and Varsity: Khol, Caleb, Tyler, Bryson, JR, Dai'shaun, Devin. 

Please go to http://www.jamonit.org/utah-events.html to see the restrictions and recommendations for this tournament for fans. They will require a mask for spectators, players, and coaches entering the Expo Center. Admission is free Tuesday and Wednesday, and then they charge admission the last three days as technically it is a separate event. I believe it's $45 the last three days - my apologies, but I have no control over this.

Tuesday, July 7: Varsity versus Olympus at 8:30 AM on MAEC (Expo Center) Court #13 and versus Kearns at 9:50 AM on MAEC Court #14.

JV versus Spanish Fork at 11:10 AM on MAEC Court #17 and versus Lehi at 12:30 PM on MAEC Court #11.

Wednesday, July 8: Varsity versus Alta at 8:30 AM and versus Herriman at 9:50 AM on MAEC Court #1.

JV versus Woods Cross at 11:40 AM on MAEC Court #16 and versus Hillcrest at 3:40 PM on MAEC Court #14.

Thursday, July 9: Varsity versus Olympus 8AM on MAEC (Expo Center) Court #3.

JV versus Flight at 12:30 PM on MAEC Court #3.

JV versus Lehi at 3:30 PM on MAEC Court #13.

Friday, July 10: Varsity at either 8:30 AM (if we lose Thursday) or 10 AM (if we win Thursday) on MAEC Court #18. Regardless of the outcome of this game, we will play a second game this day.

JV schedule will play at 5:00, 5:30, or 8:30 PM dependent upon pool play.

Saturday, July 11: Varsity game times and places TBD. 

JV game times and places TBD.  

Sunday, July 12-Wednesday, July 15: Off. Everyone should be getting together in groups of 2s and 3s and doing our shooting program.

Thursday, July 16: Varsity practice at Salt Lake Sports Academy, time TBD (evening - either 5 or 7 PM). Arrive 15 minutes prior to start time.

Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18: Varsity tournament at Westlake and Providence Hall, times, rosters, and opponents to be announced later.
